Joe & Chris

This is one of Joe's BEST buddies, Chris. Joe went home with Chris that day, after the park. His mom, my friend Shavonne, sent me a txt telling me how much she loves Joe. I was instantly concerned! LOL I asked why, and she shared a quick conversation she overheard. Joe said, "Chris, wouldn't it be cool if I were brown and you were peach?" Ha ha ha That boy!

I left a box open...Joe tried to help. :)

Tape, it's something I only have one roll of, and I have asked Joe to leave it alone. He tends to go into my desk drawer and just take it whenever he wants and it DRIVES ME NUTS! Here's the part that I realize is...well, dumb: I COULD BUY MORE! Ha ha ha My son is creative, it helps him to calm his brain when he gets to create, but here I am flippin my lid over a roll of tape that he wants to use! What a nerd! LOL (Shhh, don't tell them I used the word Dumb or Nerd!)

So anyway, I was packing and left this box sitting in the play room, waiting for a few more pieces to be added in. When I came back, I saw this. My sweet son had gone in and gotten my tape to try to help me. My first reaction was to get upset that he "took my tape" again... I'm so glad that I had a second to breath before I saw his sweet little round, "I'm about to grow: chubby" face looking at me. He had these eyes that said, "My love language is Acts of Service and I really love you, don't you love it?"... I was able to notice the sweetness in that little face and thank him for making the effort to try to help Mama as I get us ready for our big move to the Top Of California. :)

As I walked away with a smile on my face, and one on Joe's... I thanked the Lord. I thanked Him for helping me to see my son through HIS eyes in that moment. For helping me to get past my selfish self and see the heart of a boy who is so often tender, but not understood because of all of the energy he presents his tenderness with. I love my son. I love my son incredibly and I'm so thankful for his little heart that just wants to help his mama.

Joe walked in and said, "Who Do I Look Like?"

He wanted to know who I thought he looked like. I thought long and hard, because I thought he had someone in mind and I wanted him to feel like he did a GREAT job of representing that person. I said, "The little guy on Monopoly." (which worked out to be a really dumb answer because he's almost never played monopoly)... He said, "Nope." I said, "Well, who do you look like?" He says, "Oh, nobody, I just thought it was cool!" ha ha ha

Matthew's Funny For The Day:

We were driving home after church today and Matthew asked if I would turn a movie on in the car. I said, "Not on church day." (It's a family rule, no TV in the car on church day... I like to talk with them about what they learned etc.)... He said, "But, it's Sunday!" I said, "Yeah, Sunday IS church day." He said, "Oh, then today is Wednesday!" Ha ha ha, Completely cracked me up!

Commercial Caller...

Oh My Goodness, we had a first in this home today! I had to go outside to see a man who was fixing my windshield. As I'm sitting there waiting for him to finish, Joe brings me the phone. He said, "Mama, the 3D twister called us, can you buy it please?" I had to process what was happening really quickly. I heard an excited voice of a toy company recording and hung up the phone. I clicked, "Redial" and saw an 800# that I had NOT dialed. OH MY GOODNESS...he DID NOT!?!?! My Jojo saw a commercial about some 3D twister toy and not only got the phone in time, but dialed the number in time and then thought to bring it to me and make me feel special that THEY had called ME! lol I am still in shock over this event! lol I sent Joe inside, finished with the windshield repair man and then had a talk about honesty. He still asked, "Did you buy the 3D twister?" LOLOL... I said, "No Joe, you were dishonest with me and will not be getting that toy."... I hoped that was enough of an "ouch" factor that he wont try it again! Just in case, I think I'll hide my credit card from now on! ha ha ha Oh Joe, you're too smart for your own good!

Goodbye Car Beds...

During our move, we have had to say some goodbyes to some of our things. The boys will be sharing a room in our new house, so we have decided to go with a bunk bed. That means that our cool car beds have had to go to other cool little boys. This morning, Joe's car bed got picked up. I couldn't help but take a "Good Bye" picture, and then of course reflect on our 1st day pictures! Joe's blue bed was adorned with his favorite stickers over time. It had seen Buzz and Woody, some "Keechow"... but finished off it's stay with us with Starbucks and Riverside Police Dept intact.... signs that the boy is ready to be out of a toddler bed!

But, the day we brought it home, he was just under 2 years old and absolutely the perfect fit for such a cool blue car bed:
We are happy that Matthew's bed will be going to a great friend of ours and her handsome little guy. Matthew is happy for his new big boy bed, and for Reese to have the Keechow bed. I love that his heart is content. Unfortunately, I didn't get any great "1st day" pics with Matthew...but I have to throw in a reminder if his first day too!

Goodbye Car Beds, you've served us well!

"Why aren't you in your office, Mama?"

I came downstairs this morning and started making breakfast. The boys said, "Mama, when are you going to go sit in your office?" I thought that was a weird question, they typically like me out with them. Then, I start doing some packing, and the question comes again, and again, and again. I'm like, "Boy, they just don't like me today!" lol Then, I said, "Why Joe, are you wanting to be naughty when I leave the room?" He smiled. I just couldn't figure out why they kept wanting me to go sit in my office... Until I almost choked on my coffee when I walked in my office and saw this. :) My silly boys!
