More from Joe's Cooking Class!

This is the second main course Joe has made in his new Cooking class. It's meatballs, and when I asked him if he enjoyed making it, he said, "No, I had to squish guts!" Ha ha ha

I'm gonna push your buttons for you mama! (ha ha)

Matthew was my date to Bible study... we went out to lunch together after. I can't help but want to remember the moment when he reached over to my cup and said, "I'm gonna push your buttons for you Mama!" I need to buy a stack of those lids and give them to the boys when they are driving me crazy... ask them to push those buttons instead of mine! :)

Matthew is REALLY into belts today.

(He thought I was taking a picture of his mouse.)

Something I loved Today!

An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and
he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker
if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The little girl, who had just started to read her book,
replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"

" Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is
no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled
smugly.

"OK," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me
ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same
stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns
out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that
is?"

The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's
intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."

To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified
to discuss why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after
death, when you don't know crap?"

And then she went back to reading her book.

Spinning Class

The boys were out riding their bikes, until they came to me and asked me to come check something out! I LOVE their idea! I think I'll let them do this for an hour every day!

Matthew's Biscuits! He LOVED baking with Grumma!

Joe has started a cooking class on Thursdays after school. Matthew was SO jealous, so my mom brought Matthew into her house and taught him how to make biscuits. He got to mix it up and make the balls with his hands. He was IN HEAVEN making his biscuits. He LOVED seeing everyone enjoy them after he got to bake them. It was fun seeing him enjoy himself so much (as Joe is in his cooking class too!)

Funny Things They've Said Lately!

The boys have been cracking me up lately. Unfortunately, my memory stinks and our life is a touch crazy at the moment...so, I forget so much. I wanted to take a second to post some funny things they've said!
Matthew always skips 16 when counting to 20. Today I asked him why. He Said, "I separated it in my mind because it's in time out."  Ha Ha Ha That truly cracked me up!

Walking Joe to school, the crosswalk attendant tells me to have a great day, she tells the lady behind me to have a lovely day. Joe said,"Mama, why did she like the lady behind us more?" (he thought a lovely day was better than a great one!) lol

Me,"Dada is better at fixing computers." Joe,"That's because Dada is an artist and you are a panicker." WHAT? lol (I asked him what Panick means and he actually knew! BUT, when he gave examples of my behavior that made him say that... they did NOT always fit!) :)

Matthew couldn't see me today as he walked by and said, "He's a crazy freak." I didn't have to correct him, and I just thought it was cute... when they try out new words. "Freak" is not something "we say" around here. lol (He had seen his dad roll a big tire and act like he lost control of it. It wasn't a disrespectful "Crazy Freak" but like a "crazy cool")

I had to add this picture of Matthew. I took it randomly when he was looking at me and it is totally a "Smolder" (reference "Tangled" movie).

"Chips in my Mouth"

Matthew was sitting in the back of the car and said, "Mama, it feels like I have chips in my mouth, but I don't." I think he is getting new teeth and feels the pain, and the only correlation he has is when a chip stabs his mouth. I smiled.

Matthew's swing!

I found them inside the "dangling tree" after making a swing and bringing a chair inside to relax. :)

Tree Decoration

Joe has found new purpose for old electrical wire... He calls them his "Tree decorations." :)

Cousin Time @ The Cabin!

It has been YEARS since our family has been able to join the rest of the cousins for Labor Day at the Lodge. We've lived in Southern CA, so it's a 10 hour drive for a 3 day weekend and I just couldn't bring myself to do it with two small boys.  This year... WE WERE THERE!  This is just a small group of the littlest bunch of cousins... Aaron and I were walking with them, so we put them up there (well, he did that part) and I got my camera ready. They didn't get to laughing like this until Aaron acted like a crazy man behind me. I LOVE this picture! :)

Introducing, "Kelly Toy."

"Cubby GG" let Matthew bring KellyToy home from the cabin. He is SOOO happy!! I have NO idea where the name "KellyToy" came from though! Ha ha ha

1st cuts with his 1st scissors!

Matthew and I went to the store to get some school supplies that Joe's teacher needed for the class. As I got Joe some scissors, I bought a double pack to let Matthew start practicing cutting as well. This was his first piece of paper he sat and cut. I didn't give him any lines to follow yet, just let him have fun making a big mess! :)

The Introduction to Weeds

Matthew went on a bike ride on the road while Pop walked behind him. We're training them on looking for cars because there are no sidewalks on our country road. As they were coming back to our house, my dad saw a car was coming from behind. He yelled ahead to Matthew, "Pull over in those weeds and stop." Matthew didn't comply. Pop yelled again, "PULL OVER IN THOSE WEEDS AND STOP!"... Matthew did not comply. Finally, on the third time, my dad was by Matthew, put his hand on Matthew's chest and said, "Why didn't you pull over in the weeds and stop like Pop asked you to?" (When Pop told me this story, he told me he could tell Matthew was looking around a bit)... Matthew's response was, "I didn't know what a weed was Pop."

SO CUTE!

Morning ride :)

The boys have been enjoying our new country road rides!
